Investigating Pan/Tilt mechanisms? - pro consumer camcorders
Are you looking to add a remote pan / tilt unit in conjunction with a tripod or a camera crane can be used. Video cameras can be as light as a consumer Sony HDR-HC1 (about 2 pounds), and perhaps a little heavier than the HDR-FX1 (about 5 pounds). If I have a battery and a microphone, add high-capacity are the weights with us about a book.
I found the MP101 Bescor unit for about $ 125 and Jony and others for $ 1400 and above (step at a time, Cambo, Vinten, Barber Tech and some others). I have to be a Bescor the model has no number, but have the same. Interpreted Up to 6 pounds. Me with a camera Panasonic WV-D5000 guy. I think it would be about the same size and weight class as the FX1. The weight of the camera is not as important as the balance and focus. The Bescor was originally designed for cameras with a CG that is much larger than the modern equivalent of the digital camera, so I think the number of 6 pounds, is very conservative.
